Privacy Policy
Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Eduardo Varela (“I”, “me”, or “my”) handles information in connection with this portfolio website (www.eduardov.dev). This page explains what telemetry, analytics, and third-party services are used to operate, monitor, and improve site reliability and user experience.
Information I Collect
This site does not provide user accounts or persistent user profiles. Most traffic can be browsed without directly submitting personal information.
If you choose to contact me via the contact form, the form transmits your name, email address, and message content to Web3Forms for message delivery. If you schedule a call, Calendly processes scheduling details you provide.
Telemetry and Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to understand traffic and content performance, including page views, navigation paths, referrer sources, and engagement patterns. IP anonymization is enabled in the analytics configuration.
This site also records product telemetry events related to contact interactions, such as opening contact options, starting form submissions, validation outcomes, and submission success or failure states.
Error Monitoring and Performance Diagnostics
This site uses Sentry for error tracking and performance diagnostics. Sentry may collect technical metadata required to debug issues, such as browser/runtime context, request details, stack traces, and performance traces.
Session Replay is enabled with sampling to investigate production issues. Replay capture is focused on diagnostics and reliability improvement.
Cookies
This site does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Any cookies present are strictly necessary for site functionality (e.g. theme preference) and do not track individuals across websites.
Third-Party Services
This site uses third-party providers, including AWS (hosting and CDN), Google Analytics, Sentry, Web3Forms (contact delivery), Calendly (call scheduling), and Google Fonts.
AWS may collect standard server log data (for example IP address, user agent, request path, and timestamp) as part of normal CDN and hosting operation. This data is governed by AWS’s Privacy Policy .
Each third-party service processes data according to its own privacy terms and data handling practices.
Data Retention
As this site does not store personal data, there is no retention policy applicable beyond what is described in Third-Party Services above. Contact emails are retained only as long as needed to address the inquiry.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding access, correction, or deletion of personal data. Since this site collects essentially no personal data, most requests will be trivially fulfilled. For any privacy-related inquiries, use the contact form on the contact page.
Changes to This Policy
I may update this policy occasionally. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
